fanTAStic International Jamboree

When: January 2013
Where: Quercas Park, Tasmania

Camp out for a week with new and old Guide friends from around Australia and the world.  Go on amazing adventurous and have heaps of fun.

Jamboree On The Air (JOTA)

When: Saturday 15th October 2011
Where: Winston Hills Girl Guide Hall
Who: Guides of all ages
 

This is the largest Girl Guide and Scout event with over half a million participants each year.  There will be a couple ham radios set up so that you can talk to and learn about new Guide and Scout friends in places far away.  There will also be loads of craft activities, codes to crack, outdoor challenges and much more.  The Winston Hills Girl Guides JOTA station annually attracts over 100 Girl Guides and their leaders from across the Hills area, Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains so you can make new Guiding friends at the event as well as over the airwaves.

Once Upon A Time Regatta

When: 18-20 March 2011
Who: OPs, Senior Guides and Guides 13+ who want to see what Senior Guides get up to
Where: Nords Wharf (on Lake Macquarie)

Regatta is a fun boating weekend for Senior Guides and OPs.  There are informal races in canoes, kayaks and rowboats as well as a number of challenges on land.  It's a great weekend to chill out with friends and cheer on your team.

 

Region Thinking Day Event

When: Sunday 27th February 2011
Where: Emu Plains Guide Hall
Who: Guides of all ages
How much: $10 (includes food, badge, activity materials, donation to World Thinking Day Fund)

Thinking Day is a special day celebrated around the world which marks the anniversary of Lord and Lady Baden-Powells' joint birthday (Feb 22) - the founders of the Guiding and Scouting movement.  It is a day to think about all our sister Girl Guides and Scouts around the world, particularly those less fortunate than ourselves.  This year's World Thinking Day theme is based on the United Nation's third millennium development goal - To promote gender equality and empower women.  The 5 focus countries will be Bolivia, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nepal and Yemen

 

Clean Up Australia Day

When: Sunday 6th March 2011
Where: Bushland around the Guide Hall

Winston Hills Girl Guides will be joining forces with volunteers across the nation to help clean up our community.

 

Australia Day Breakfast

When: 26th January 2011
Where: 3rd Settlement Reserve, Edison Pde (just down the road from the Guide Hall)

Winston Hills Girl Guides will be helping the Rotary Club of Winston Hills to serve breakfast to the community and to organise the kids 'boat' races.  Friends and family are all welcome to come along and enjoy the festivities!

 

District Christmas Party

When: Friday 10th December 2010
Where: Guide Hall
Who: All Guiding members from Winston Hills

A great chance to celebrate the end of the 'Year of the Girl Guide' with Girl Guides of all ages with some fun, food and games.

100% Fun

When: Sunday, 19th September 2010
Where: Camp Kariong, Kariong
Who: Pre-Junior and Junior Guides (5-10) and their leaders/unit helpers
How much: $25 ($12.50 for adults, free for activity helpers)

A fun day out for Pre-Junior and Junior Girl Guides full of adventurous activities.  Have some fun and make new friends with other PJ and Junior Guides from across NSW and ACT.

Glengarry Adventures Day

When: 25th July 2010
Where: Glengarry Guide Property, North Turramurra
Who: Junior Guides, Guides and their leaders
How much: $22

Have a fun day out with your Guiding friends at Glengarry Adventures Day!  There's going to loads of adventurous activities and fun games outdoors.

 

Zoo Sleepout

When: Friday 6th-Saturday 7th August 2010
Where: Taronga Zoo, Sydney
Who: Guides 10+ and their leaders

Help raise money for the Zoo by sleeping out for a night under the stars.

Chain of Campfires

When: Saturday, 19th June, 5pm-7.30pm 2010
Where: Winston Hills Guide Hall
Who: Winston Hills and Toongabbie Guides of all ages and their families
How much: FREE

Girl Guides across Australia will be simultaneously lighting campfires to celebrating the Centenary of the Girl Guide Movement.  There'll be a free sausage sizzle, drinks, glow-sticks and s'mores.

 

100 Downunder

When:  Sunday 23rd May 2010
Who: All Girl Guides from Macquarie West Division
Where: Winston Hills Guide Hall
How much: $10 (includes bag, badge, wristband and afternoon tea)

Celebrate the Past, live the Present and Power into the future with a fun activity day run at many locations simultaneously around Australia

WAGGGS Party Time

Where: Mt Annan Botanical Gardens
Who: Girl Guides of all ages

Girl Guides from across NSW and ACT will be gathering together for a large party at Mt Annan Botanical Gardens to celebrate the 100th day of the 100th year.

The Guides have been invited by the Rotary Club of Winston Hills to help serve breakfast at the Australia Day celebrations in 3rd Settlement Reserve.  Friends and Family are all welcome to come along and enjoy the festivities!

 

ACE Jamboree

Who: Guides aged 10+ by 9th January 2010
When: 3-9 January 2010
Where: Brittania Park, Victoria (near Melbourne)

The ACE Jamboree is a large camp (approx. 2500 girls and leaders) to celebrate the centenary of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.  There will be contingents from each of the Australian states as well as international participants.  It's a great opportunity to meet new guiding friends as well as to take part in new adventures.
