High Seas Regatta 2007

In March 2007, a small group of girls from the Supernovas attended the High Seas Regatta held at Camp Kanangra, Nord's Wharf (on Lake Macquarie).  Although the weather turned a little rainy (as is tradition), a lot of fun was had through the numerous boating races (canoeing, kayaking, rowboating) as well as land based activities with games and puzzles.  The campfire (well, lanterns really) was great and enjoyed by all as the camp huddled together under a small shade shelter with an added tarp to stay dry from the beating rain around them.  The weekend finished off well with a very humourus raft race (made from bits and pieces of everything) and a great BBQ provided by Kuringai Rangers and OP.  A ceremony concluded the camp, with awards presented to all the winners - Including one to Winston Hills Supernova Guides for 'Best Raft Construction'!!  All up, it was a great weekend.

Not only boating activities but great puzzles and crafts to fill the time between races (and sunny weather), but even the rain couldn't dampen our Guiding Ingenuity, especially around dinner time.
