JOTA 2008
|
 |
JOTA (Jamboree Of The Air) is an international event in which around 500,000
Scouts and Guides from around the world have fun talking to each other via
radio. This year the Winston Hills Girl Guides operated two radios and made
contacts right across NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland as well as with
the USA. Countless craft activities and even a guiding computer game were
set up and enjoyed by all. This year's specialty which excited many was
the assortment of 'old-fashioned' technology such as rotary dial
telephones, a typewriter and Morse keys

Trying out technology with typewriters as well as sending and decoding
Morse code

Making sense of Marine flags and having fun at craft
