Medieval Barbie Camp
In November 2007, the Celestial Guides ventured off to Glengarry (a Guide property in Turramurra) for a camp. After much debate over the theme, it was decided that the two main ideas of a medieval camp and a Barbie camp were combined. Over the weekend, we got to experience bell tents (a first for many) and enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including a long bushwalk and a treasure hunt for Barbie, who was abducted by the Supernova Guides who were also camping over the same weekend. The Novas also organised a couple of activities for us including billy-carting, sardines (it's a bit like spotlight) and a much loved game of charades (have you ever tried to act out a sea-cucumber?). The campfire on Saturday was also well enjoyed with some very loud singing and of course some 'smores. Overall, the camp was definitely enjoyed by all as we got to experience new things, learn new skills and just have fun.
