Billabong Guides Activities

Billabong Guides do all sorts of activities equipping them with knowledge and skills for life with lots of crafts and imaginative games as they work in their patrols both indoors and outdoors. We also have visits from various community members such as the Lions Club, WIRES, the local firefighters and more.  Outings in the local area are very popular with visits to places such as bowling, rock-climbing and tennis.  Billabong Guides are also active community members with participation in local activities such as Australia Day festivals, ANZAC day parades, Clean up Australia Day and the Orange Blossom festival.  Spending time together is greatly enjoyed by all with sleepovers and weekend camps.

Promise ceremonies are a special time
for each girl when she decides to join
the Guiding movement.
Billabong Guides give bowling a try
for an end of term outing together
Special dress up nights at the hall, such as
Halloween are enjoyed with activities
such as donut eating and apple bobbing.
Billabong Guides love our visits from
community organisations such as the
local Fire fighters who came and
taught us all about what to do in a
fire, how they fight fire with the things in their
truck - not to mention getting a little wet with the hose
An outing to the local tennis courts turned out
to be great fun as many of the girls tried
out a new sport.
A joint camp with the Wentworthville/Pendle Hill Brownie Guides was enjoyed by all as numerous dance themed crafts were undertaken as well as outdoor activities including ice-blocking and billy-carting.
The Billabong Junior Guides had a great time with a joint trip to the Air Activities Centre at Camden Airport with 1st Kellyville Junior Guides.  The day consisted of a joyflight to Warragamba Dam, an introduction to aviation and fundamental communication techniques as well as a variety of aeroplane-theme activities.
Developing leadership skills and confidence as girls organise activities for the unit as they work towards achieving a variety of badges.
