Girl Guides gives girls the opportunity to make new friends, have fun and learn skills for life.  Girls participate in both indoor and outdoor activities relevant to their age group.  Variety is the key.  Activities can range from camping and canoeing to craft and cooking.  Girls learn to work together in teams (or 'patrols') and have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, time-management skills and other important life skills along the way.  An award system is also available for girls to undertake challenges in a wide range of specific areas enabling them to discover their potential as they earn a range of badges.

Winston Hills Girl Guides is part of the Greater Rivers Region which is about one hour north-west of Sydney (between Parramatta and Baulkham Hills) in New South Wales, Australia.  We meet in our own hall once a week for 11/2  to 2 hours (depending on the age group). Our hall is located on Edison Pde, Winston Hills.  We have five units; Gumnut Pre-Junior Guides (ages 5-7), Billabong Junior Guides (ages 7-10), Celestial Guides (10-14), Supernova Senior Guides (ages 14-18), Olave Program (ages 18-30).  We also have a Support Group of adults (parents and friends) who assist with the behind the scenes running of our hall and supporting our leaders.
